Compare enables you to see changes down to the character level and copy changes between two different versions of a file in accordance with your own needs.
This lightweight application features clean interface with easy to understand controls and icons, no bloat (such as image or sound wave comparison, built in emacs editor, etc) and does not require you to create and manage projects.
Just select or drag-and-drop in two items onto it and you`re ready to compare and merge. Compare also remembers all recent items for each side so you can perform repeated comparisons easily.

NOTE: Compare can only be downloaded via the Mac App Store (the download link redirects you to its App Store page). To purchase/ download applications via the App Store an Apple account is required.
Here are some key features of "Compare":
Clear and easy to understand controls:
· Compare features basic and clear controls. Described below, you can see how similar actions are grouped together and shown on the main panel, letting you avoid popup or drop down menus.
Comparison filtering:
· Zero on differences (or similarity) of your folders, files, and code by selecting what you want to see.
Easy navigation:
· Jump back and forth between differences by using up and down buttons.
Merging and modifying:
· Copy changes from left to right or right to left by selecting it and pushing the appropriate button. Select items and push X to delete them.
Comparison rules:
· Select how changes are determined by using the Equality and Whitespace controls.
Text mode:
· Choose system proportional or fixed with text. You can choose it separately for both file comparisons and text comparisons.
Close-up of your text:
· The bottom side of the text comparison window shows the two lines where your cursor is, and their line numbers.
Overview of differences and changes:
· The colored bar displays your whole document, your page view into it, and color codes each line that was different or modified by you, giving you a view into your complete document.
Quick view switch:
· Quickly switch between File and Text views. Even choose items to compare while switching.
Easily select what you compare:
You can choose what you want to compare in a variety of ways, including:
· Drag and drop of you files onto Compare`s icon.
· Drag and drop of your files into Compare`s window.
· Double clicking item to compare (on either side)

· Silent operation in command-line mode; useful when using as a diff tool with GIT or other command-line based version control systems.
· Various usability enhancements including tool tips, improved display of possible actions, and exit-time automatic scroll to file or directory panel as appropriate when a confirmation dialog is necessary.
· Threaded file copy now gives smoother copying of large files. Also you can now cancel file copy operations. (Note: Since FileManager is used, cancel will occur once current file is copied and before the next file copy is started)
